Amader Bari

(Integrated Old and Children Home)

A joint Initiative of the Ministry of Social Welfare and GMSS Foundation

Amader Bari (Integrated Old and Children Home) is one of the major social development projects of GMSS Foundation. Established through a joint initiative of the Ministry of Social Welfare and GMSS Foundation, the project was inaugurated on 10 September 2022.

The primary objective of this project is to ensure safe accommodation, food, medical care, education, personal care, and a family-like environment for disadvantaged older adults and children.

The facility has the capacity to accommodate 120 older adults and children, with a range of modern amenities. Currently, 55 older adults and children reside at the facility.

At Amader Bari, safe accommodation for older adults is regarded as the foundation of a dignified family life. In addition to residential facilities, the project integrates food, clothing, medical treatment, healthcare services, physical exercise, recreation, and opportunities for social interaction to promote the overall well-being of its residents.

What We Do

Who Can Reside at Amader Bari

Children (5–18 Years):

30% of the designated seats are reserved for helpless, extremely poor, and disadvantaged children. They can stay completely free of cost, with access to all necessary facilities and services. They will also have the opportunity to study at the school, madrasa, and technical college located near Amader Bari.
Children who are financially well-off but do not have anyone suitable to take care of them.

Senior Citizens:

Senior citizens who are financially well-off but do not have anyone suitable to look after them.
Helpless and disadvantaged senior citizens.
30% of the designated seats are reserved for financially disadvantaged and underserved senior citizens. They can stay completely free of cost, with access to all necessary facilities and services.

Admission Rules

Applicants must apply using the prescribed application form. The form can be collected from the website or the project office.
Two (2) passport-size photographs must be attached to the application form.
A photocopy of the applicant’s National ID Card, Passport, or Birth Registration Certificate must be submitted.
Two months’ monthly fees must be paid in advance (applicable to financially solvent residents).
A one-time registration fee of ৳500 is required.
An agreement must be executed on ৳300 stamp paper.
The decision of the Admission Committee regarding admission shall be final.
